Saritha Nair to seek independent body for probe
Coimbatore: Continuing her tirade against Kerala Chief Minister, Oomen Chandy, solar scam accused Saritha Nair said she will move the Kerala High Court demanding the constitution of a new independent entity to probe into the solar scam.
Speaking to journalists after appearing in a case of cheating in Coimbatore on Wednesday, Saritha said she would move the court on March 8 demanding a fresh inquiry by an independent entity.
Raising doubts about the veracity of the enquiry undertaken by the commission as it was constituted by the Congress government, she said that only a fresh investigation by an independent body will reveal the scam in its entirety.
“Even those politicians whom I accused of corruption charges have not been called for an enquiry by the commission so far. Hence the outcome of the probe can never be fair if it is done by the police in Kerala and by the commission formed by the government,” she said.
Saritha also accused the state minister for electricity and transport, Aryadan Muhammed and two MLAs of being involved in the scam. “I am cooperating with the commission and had submitted digital evidence to prove my claim,” she said.
Earlier Saritha appeared before the Judicial Magistrate VI Judge, R Rajavelu in connection with the windmill scam. She had been accused of cheating investors to the tune of over Rs 32 lakhs in a windmill scam in Coimbatore. The Judge posted the next hearing for March 16.
