Puducherry: AICC general secretary and former Union minister V. Narayanasamy has alleged that the development of the union territory has been pushed back by NR Congress government in the past five years.
He told newspersons here that Chief Minister N Rangasamy failed to implement the promises he had given in the 2011 election.
“ Out of 164 promises the Chief Minister had given in the last election, only three had been implemented, that too only partially” he said.
Narayanasamy charged the Lt. Governor, Chief Secretary and other officials with supporting the “irregularities of the present government” instead of taking action.
The annual plan for 2015-16 which was fixed at Rs 2,900 crore later reduced to Rs 2,300 crore in the revised estimate, as the government failed to mobilise tax revenue and in February itself, the government experienced a deficit of Rs 500 crore.
This proved that the claim by the Chief minister that the financial position of the union territory was satisfactory, was false.
He alleged that about 5,600 government employees were not given the salary for the last three months to two years and about 1000 retired government employees were not given their pension for the last five months.
Though the DMK-Congress alliance had been announced, seat sharing talks had not been held in Puducherry yet.
