Panel discusses Union Budget in Andhra varsity

The session was presided by Principal of College of Arts and Commerce Prof. M. Sundara Rao.

Visakhapatnam: Even though much allocation was not made to Andhra Pradesh, the 2016-17 Union Budget is a replica of the financial policy of the Central government, said AU interim V-C and Rector Prof. E.A. Narayana.

On Wednesday, Prof. Narayana was the chief guest for the panel discussion on Union Budget held in the Seminar Hall of Andhra University. The session was presided by Principal of College of Arts and Commerce Prof. M. Sundara Rao.

“The 2016-17 Budget was a strategic one and formulated based on nine important aspects related to the socio-economic system.”

The three panellists, Prof. M. Jagadeeswara Rao, Prof. Ch.A. Krishna Rao and Prof. M. Prasada Rao, had presented various underlying aspects of the budget.

Prof. M. Jagadeeswara Rao explained the macroeconomic scenario under which the Budget was prepared this financial year.

Prof. Krishna Rao analysed the issues related to the direct and indirect taxes of the budget. Prof. Prasada Rao pointed out the structural problems of the Indian economy which are becoming obstacles in the way of implementation of the Budget.
