Hyderabad: Tennis champion Sania Mirza flagged off two US-made catamarans at Hussainsagar on Wednesday.
After taking a ride on one of them as the brand ambassador for Telangana, Sania said, “I had a wonderful experience, it brought back memories of my childhood.”
TSTDC chairman Pervaram Ramulu and TSTDC MD Dr Christina Z. Chongthu said a ride in the catamarans would cost Rs 100 per person.
A boat can seat up to 15 tourists. The TSTDC also launched party packages at Rs 2,000 per hour from 8.30 pm to midnight.
The TSTDC owns the largest water fleet in India with 95 boats. At Hussainsagar, it operates a ferry to the Buddha statue and three cruise boats.
