Explain neglect to Aandhra Pradesh, says Congress

Amit Shah advised to visit Rajahmundry with clear assurances.

Rajahmundry: Congress advised BJP president Amit Shah to visit Rajahmundry with clear assurances on when the state would get special status and funds allocation for construction of capital city and also execution of Polavaram irrigation project.

District Congress Committee president Kandula Durgesh told newsmen here on Wednesday that unless the BJP president visits the city by bringing good news, it would be of no use. He felt the need for the BJP chief to announce in the public meeting about the special status, capital city and Polavaram project in clear terms.

Reacting to BJP leader D. Purandareswari’s remarks on Polavaram project by saying that the state government failed to submit proper details on the project to the Centre resulting in meagre allocation of funds and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s claim for release of funds from the Centre for the money spent on the project, he said that both the parties were playing blame game on the issue resulting in no development in the state.

Mr Durgesh said that a delegation consisting of 200 members from AP Pradesh Congress Committee would start from Visakhapatnam to New Delhi by AP Express on March 12 and added that MP K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao was making efforts to get appointment with PM Narendra Modi on March 14 or 15. They will demand the NDA government to fulfill all provisions incorporated in AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

BJP to showcase Central schemes
BJP will showcase several Central schemes by setting up stalls during the visit of party national president Amit Shah to city on March 6.

Rajahmundry urban MLA (BJP) Dr Akula Satyanarayana told newsmen here on Wednesday that their party chief would arrive to Rajahmundry at about 11.00 am and interact with the party senior leaders and accept representations from the people between 12.00 noon to 4.00 pm.

Later, he would address the public meeting on the grounds of Government Arts College from 4.00 pm to 6.30 pm, he said and added that after the public meeting, their party chief would proceed to Vizag to stay put for the night and leave to New Delhi in the morning on March 7.He said that the banks would also set up their stalls to publicise their schemes.

Meagre funds allocation to AP justified
BJP state general secretary Suresh Reddy justified the Centre’s move by not allocating more funds to AP in the general budget by saying that the AP government failed to submit details on funds released for construction of capital city at Amaravati.

Touring several parts in East Godavari on Wednesday, Mr Reddy turned critical against the state government for failing to give details on expenditure incurred for developing capital city.
