Numaish Tragedy: Plea claims organisers did not take NOC from Telangana Fire depart

Advocate Khaja Aijazuddin sought closure of the exhibition and threatened to move court if action was not taken against the Society.

Hyderabad: A petitioner has alleged that the executive body of the Exhibition Society had not obtained a no objection certificate from the fire services department before conducting the Numaish as required by the Telangana Fire Service Act, 1999.

City-based advocate Khaja Aijazuddin sent a notice to the chief secretary, the DGP and the Hyderabad district fire officer to initiate prosecution against the Exhibition Society secretary as per Section 31 of the Fire Service Act.

He also sought closure of the exhibition and threatened to move court if action was not taken against the Society.

Mr Aijazuddin had earlier filed a public interest litigation and contempt cases against the Exhibition Society when it failed to pay land lease dues for conducting the exhibition to the roads and buildings department.
