Former Wakf Board CEO interrogated in NoC case

Mr Khasim had complained that a fake NOC was submitted to the RR district collector by Mr Sultan.

Hyderabad: Abids police is investigating the fake no-objection certificate case regarding a plot of land attached to Dargah Hussain Shah Wali of the Manikonda Jagir with the help of former Wakf Board chief executive officer Sultan Mohiuddin. The Board is utilising his services as officer on special duty (law) on outsource basis.

Mr Sultan was allowed to return home and asked to appear before the investigating officer on Sunday.

The Abids police registered a criminal case in December 2018 on Mr Sultan based on a complaint of Wakf Board Chief Executive Officer Shahnawaz Khasim. Mr Khasim had complained that a fake NOC was submitted to the Ranga Reddy district collector pertaining to a piece of land admeasuring four acres in Manikonda Jagir attached to the Dargah Hussain Shah Wali.

The NoC declared that land under survey numbers 247, 250 and 251 did not belong to the Wakf Board but was purchased by one M. Bheem Yadav, a resident of Shaikpet, from its pattadar Syed Shafiullah Hussaini. On internal verification it was found that the NoC was not officially issued by the Wakf Board as there was no mention of it in its records.

Later Abdul Wahaj Khan alias Shaharyar Khan of Old Malakpet and Ziauddin of Sin-garini Colony, Saida-bad, were arrested on January 24 while the prime suspect Mohammed Imtiyaz, a native of Khammam, surrendered before the II additional chief metropolitan magistrate, Nampally criminal court on January 29. Police is interrogating Imtiyaz after seeking his remand for three days.

SHO Abids Kandula Ravi Kumar said, “We are questioning Mr Sultan to ascertain his role. The prime accused in his statement pointed out few employees of the Wakf Board.”

Earlier, Police had also interrogated the four employees of the Board who are working in the Protection Section.

Police is trying to know the real purpose of filing fake NOC before the Rangareddy Collectorate as the Board officials opined that to blame the present CEO a fake NOC was submitted as the accused persons were not allowed to lobbying in the Board
