Hyderabad: A 21-year-old second year student of Physical Education College in Domalguda committed suicide by hanging in her hostel room on Thursday night after being depressed over getting married at an early age, said the Chikkadpally police.
The deceased, identified as Krishnaveni, was married to one Prem Sagar, 25, a farmer, seven months ago.
“She had expressed her disinterest over the wedding in her private diary where she wrote about how her parents were not understanding her and how she disliked the marriage,” said the official, adding that she was still pursuing a course in the college and decided to take the extreme step after being unhappy with the wedding.
On Friday, Krishnaveni committed suicide by hanging at her hostel room with the help of a shawl. A case was booked under Section 174 (suspicious death) of CrPC.
