Air India buyer to be picked by June
He said that at least 51 per cent of the airline's stake will be acquired by a private player or players.

Air India has a debt burden of more than Rs 50,000 crore and has is also planning to take short term loans worth up to Rs 3,250 crore to meet working capital requirements.
New Delhi: In what the government says will be the largest-ever privatisation exercise in the country, minister of state for civil aviation Jayant Sinha said on Friday that Air India would be run by a private player by the end of 2018 and the winning bidder will be declared by the end of June after a transparent disinvestment process.
He said that at least 51 per cent of the airline’s stake will be acquired by a private player or players.
An document on the assets of the airline would be issued in public. A Request for Proposal would be issued thereafter within a period of 60 days for disinvestment.
