167 activists arrested for black flag stir against Modi's visit in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: As many as 167 cadres of Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam were arrested on Tuesday for trying to show black flag to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Coimbatore.
Demanding a fair probe in the suicide of a student in Hyderabad university and condemning the stance of the central government, 24 political outfits including TPDK, Dravidar Viduthalai Kalagam, Aathi Tamilar Peravai al camped at the Lakshmi mills signal on Avinashi road, waving the black flag.
Led by Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam general secretary K. Ramakrishnan, the activists raised slogans. However, the police arrived quickly and picked them up. Later, they were let off.
