Two Miyapur cops suspended for not registering a case

When they approached the Miyapur police to lodge a complaint, the police did not receive it.

Hyderabad: Miyapur inspector K. Ramesh and sub-inspector N. Ramulu were on Monday suspended by the Cyberabad police commissioner for allegedly not registering a case after a 70-year-old person lodged a complaint against a realtor who had vandalised his house.

Mr U. Venkatarama and his wife Shyamala approached Cyberabad police commissioner Sandeep Shandilya stating that a realtor, whom they identified as Raju, had trespassed into their hut on December 24, when he had taken his wife to hospital.

He stated that Raju entered the house by breaking the lock on the main door and took away household articles and grabbed their house. When they approached the Miyapur police to lodge a complaint, the police did not receive it.

Mr Shandilya after an inquiry found that the inspector and sub-inspector had failed to register a case of forcible change of possession. The inquiry found that the inspector told Mr Ramulu not to register a case.

Police busts gang selling others’ plots
The Rachakonda police busted a land grab racket that targeted plots whose owners were either abroad, or were not traceable.

Police arrested five members of the gang and recovered cash and documents from their possession. Police said that the gang forged the documents and sold the plots. The suspects were identified as G. Narsimhulu, Suresh Kumar, A. Sridhar, N. Yadaiah and U. Harikrishna Goud.

Rachakonda joint commissioner of police T.V. Shashidhar Reddy told the that the media that Narsimhulu, a realtor, came into contact with Suresh Kumar, a document writer. He learnt that Kumar could create authentic-looking fake documents,

Narsimhulu roped in realtors Sridhar, Yadaiah and Harikrishna and through them identified vacant plots in AS Rao Nagar, Neredmet, Kuntlur, Adibhatla and Ghatkesar where layouts were made in the late 80s and early 90s.

Police said they planned to trace the owners of the vacant plots and persuade them to sell the land. “They found that many owners could not be traced. Then they hatched a plan to create fake documents and sell the plots. They approached Suresh to prepare fake documents,” Mr Shashidhar Reddy said.

In Neredmet they prepared forged documents of a 382-square yard plot of land owned by a US-based NRI N. Anuradha and were trying to sell it. When her relatives came to know of their plan, they dropped it.

They prepared plans to sell individual plots in Ghatkesar, Kuntlur, Teacher’s Colony in AS Rao Nagar and Adibhatla. Police arrested the gang and and seized Rs 1 lakh cash and material used for making forged documents from them.
