Anjani Kumar cautioned the officials that tempers would run high at counting centres where the situation could deteroirate. He wanted the officials to be fully prepared for any eventuality where the contests aer close. He wanted them to strictly ensure that no gatherings are allowed at counting centres.

In areas where the main candidates have good support, there was a need to add additional pickets, mobile patrol parties and obtain the special branch report and plan accordingly.

Anjani Kumar drew attention to the fact that in some areas debris and construction material is left lying on the roads. These could be used for stone-pelting offences by some frustrated elements in the loser’s camp.
