Jagan to visit 3 flood-hit districts

The CM will interact with the flood victims in Kadapa, Chittoor and Nellore districts

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will undertake a two-day visit of three flood-hit districts from Thursday. He will interact with the flood victims in Kadapa, Chittoor and Nellore districts.

Telugu Desam and other Opposition parties had criticised Jagan Mohan Reddy for not visiting flood-affected areas.

Earlier, the CM had undertaken an aerial visit of flood-affected areas, pointing out that his personal visit will disturb relief activities being undertaken for victims.

The Chief Minister will on Thursday leave for Gannavaram airport at 9 am on Thursday and reach Kadapa at 10.15 am. He will fly to Pulpathuru village by helicopter and visit flood-affected victims of the village, who have been sheltered in a relief camp. He will then visit Eggumandapali camp and interact with victims before visiting the Annamaiah dam site.

After winding up inspections at different places in Kadapa district, the CM will reach Renigunta at around 3.30 p.m. on Thursday. He will visit Vedalacheruvu ST colony in Renigunta mandal, where he will interact with villagers and review the damage caused by flash floods. Thereafter, he will inspect infrastructure damages at Papanaidupet and Padipeta villages in Chittoor district, where several causeways and bridges have got washed away due to floods in Swarnamukhi River. He will then hold a review of floods with elected representatives and officials at Sri Padmavathi guest house in Tirupati before making a night halt.

On Friday morning, Jagan Mohan Reddy will visit Krishnanagar and Autonagar in the city and interact with flood victims. He will then leave for inspecting flood-affected areas in Nellore district. He will visit rain-affected areas of Nellore city, Nellore rural and Kovur constituencies. He will inspect damages and breaches to local R&B roads as well as the major breach at Penna River flood bank at Jonnawada.

The Chief Minister will inspect damages to crops besides sand deposits in agriculture fields and roads at Penubballi village. He will then visit Bhagat Singh Colony in Nellore and interact with victims. He will witness a photo exhibition at zilla parishad office in Nellore city and interact with officials. Post the review, he will proceed to Renigunta airport and return to Vijayawada.
