Kothagudem: Case filed against SCCL CMD and ex-director
Kothagudem: A case has been filed against Singareni Collieries chairman and managing director N. Sridhar, ex-director of personnel T, Vijay Kumar, and some other officials of the company’s medical board in the Kothagudem One Town police station on the directions of the court.
The court order came on a complaint filed by former SCCL employee Yendapally Anand, alleging that the medical board had declared some workers medically unfit by taking bribes. He said that the SCCL managing director and director personnel are on the board as members.
With the wrongful unfit certificate, the heirs of the workers will get jobs.
The complaint was filed under Section 200 of the Criminal Procedure Court. He requested the court to take action against the officials who deemed the workers unfit without valid reasons by ordering an investigation.
The court was satisfied with the material submitted by Mr Anand and was of the opinion that investigation into the allegation of the complainant relating to embezzlement by way of bribing and cheating innocent workmen, is required.
The court directed the police department to investigate and report on the complaint.
