Kollam: Bus operator’s FB post mocks motor vehicle department

The department seized two buses of Lumiere Travels.

Kollam: As the motor vehicle department cancels fitness certificates of buses that dangerously stunted on a school ground in Anchal, the bus operator has come up with threatening posts challenging the act on Facebook.

The department seized two buses of Lumiere Travels. It also cancelled licenses of drivers temporarily as they performed the stunt on the campus.

One was seen jumping out and walking along with the moving vehicle dangerously.

The post in the name of the travels mocked the penal action by the MVD that the cancellation of license is “just for two months” which is not at all an issue and the same driver will drive the bus. Derogatory comments were also made against media persons.

However, the Facebook post was later removed and apologised.

"The post was not to defame the motor vehicles department officials or the police. The services are operated abiding by the rules and will be as such further," it reads.

Meanwhile, the department cancelled fitness certificate of fifteen buses and slapped a penalty on over 80 buses for violating norms by installing intense lighting and sound systems.

Two tourist buses of the Lumiere Travels performed the dangerous stunt on Anchal East Government Higher Secondary School campus before a tour programme.

The video that went viral also showed the bus driver, who carried students from the school, jumping out and walking along dangerously.

In another incident, they had seized a tourist bus that stunted dangerously on Vidyadhiraja school ground at Vendar in Kottarakkara earlier.
