Hyderabad: Techie tells police of rape attempt
Hyderabad: A call from a woman IT employee who alleged that someone was trying to sexually assault her in her house left the Bachupally police in a tizzy. The police received the call on Dial 100 at 7.05 pm and reached her residence at 7.11 pm.
Bachupally inspector M. Jagadeeshwar said the woman was close to collapse and not in a position to give any information. She was shifted to a hospital.
The inspector said the woman stayed with her elder sister at an the apartment in Nizampet. The sister, a 26-year-old divorcee, was friendly with a man from Miyapur whom she met on a matrimony site.
On Saturday morning, the man went to her house and the two quarrelled. They left the house together, but the man returned and locked the house. In the evening, the accused went to the house, created a ruckus and took away a gold chain and iPhone from the house and also allegedly misbehaved with the victim.
The inspector said that after the woman recuperates, police will register a case and proceed.
