Hyderabad: BJP youth neta Ashish Goud faces abuse case

Ashish is the son of former MLA, Nandeshwar Goud, who represented Patancheruvu in 2009 and joined the BJP in 2016.

Hyderabad: A Telugu movie artist who was also a contestant on the Telugu TV show Big Boss, complained to the Madhapur police that she was sexually harassed by a BJP youth leader on Sunday.

The 27-year-old woman’s complaint was against Ashish Goud, a member of the Bharati-ya Janata Yuva Morcha, for an incident that allegedly took place at a Cyberabad hotel at 2 am on Sunday.

The complainant said she and her friends were in a corner listening to music when Ashish and his friends approached them and misbehaved.

“He and his friends caught our hands and used vulgar language,” the complainant said. “They threw bottles on the floor to try and hit us.”

Ashish is the son of former MLA, Nandeshwar Goud, who represented Patancheruvu in 2009 and joined the BJP in 2016. He then switched to the TD this year.
Police filed an FIR under relevant sections. Madhapur DCP Venkat-eshwar Rao said that the accused was absconding, and that police efforts were on to trace him.

Ashish responded to the allegations later on Sunday afternoon. “It is not true,” he told the media. “People should come forward with proof. Political parties are trying to blame me, and such motivated allegations have come earlier as well.”

Ironically, Ashish’s social media showed that he participated in a protest by school students demanding the execution of those accused of raping and murdering Dr P. Priyanka Reddy.
