Hyderabad: The voter’s slip sports a new look this elections. Unlike old ones, the new ones are larger in size with the constituency map and location of polling booth of the respective voter. They also come with helpline numbers of district election officer (DEO) and chief election officer (CEO) to contact in case of any emergency.
The slips also have the names and contact numbers of the booth-level officers (BLOs) besides the voter’s name, his or her father’s name and a link to the official website of the election commission.
Sources in the election commission said the new features have been added to help the voters in case they needed any clarifications or assistance. The voters can also complain to the EC officials if they come across any malpractices.
In Hyderabad municipal area, which has 15 Assembly constituencies and 3,866 polling stations, the BLOs concerned have been distributing the voter’s slips at people’s doorsteps from November 27, which will continue till December 2.
