Hyderabad: Koracha Gang pretends to sell gold, arrested
Hyderabad: The Balapur police arrested a member of the ‘Koracha gang’ from Karnataka on Saturday.
The gang lures individuals under the pretext of offering them a ‘pot full of gold’ and sell fake gold before fleeing.
The arrested was identified as Shanmukha Ballary, 25, an agricultural labourer from Bellary in Karnataka, police said, adding that three other members of the gang, identified as Nagaraju, Bharathesh and Anil, all from Bellary, were reportedly absconding.
“Their modus operandi of the Koracha Gang is to identify rich people and lure them by saying they have treasure and they are willing to sell a part of the same for lower rates by citing emergency reasons,” said officials.
The Balapur Police issued an arrest memo against him and produced in the court.
