The local courts have awarded jail to 1,099 violators and suspended the driving licence of 124 persons.

Sai Eashwar Goud, Inspector of traffic police, Charminar Traffic PS, a motorcyclist named Narsing Rao, GHMC employee, abused him and his fellow cops when they were conducting checks for drunken driving at Champapet. Hyderabad: In November, as many as 4,165 violators who were driving under the influence of alcohol were caught red handed in Hyderabad and Cyberabad areas.
The local courts have awarded jail to 1,099 violators and suspended the driving licence of 124 persons.
One person was awarded the highest one month jail and 133 violators were sentenced to three days’ jail. The licenses of 16 violators have been permanently cancelled and 108 have been suspended for specific period ranging from six months to 5 years.
In addition to drunk and driving cases, 11 and 2 violators were jailed for cell phone driving and driving without license respectively.
