Hyderabad: Police bans use of DJ during Milad-un-Nabi processions
Hyderabad: The city police has banned the use of DJ system during the Milad-un-Nabi procession on Saturday. The police has warned of stringent action if the organisers fail to adhere to the rules. DCP (south) V. Satyanarayana said DJ systems were banned owing to law and order related issues. “We have informed the main organisers of the Milad Juloos and request those joining the main procession to adhere to rules,” he said.
The Sunni United Forum of India (SUFI) plans a massive procession from Dargah Quadri Chaman in Falaknuma on Saturday noon. The procession will pass through Aliabad, Shahalibanda, Charminar, Gulzar Houz, Pathergatti, Darulshifa, and Mandi Mir Alam before culminating at Moghalpura. Another procession starts from Misrigunj while a few more small processions would be taken out from various localities.
Hyderabad police commissioner V.V. Srinivasa Rao visited the procession route along with the officials and the organisers. He said that adequate police force was being deployed for security. “Our officers assisted by surveillance cameras and plainclothes police teams will monitor the procession. The police deployment is a precautionary measure,” he said.
Two public meetings are planned in the city apart from blood donation camps. The All India Majlis Tameer-e-Millat will be organising a public meeting at Nizam College ground at 9 am on Saturday, and another meeting the next day at Chanchalguda ground at 9 pm. Renowed Islamic scholar Maulana Abu Talib Rahmani of Kolkata and Acharya Pramod Krishnam, president of All India Sant Samithi, will participate in the meeting.
