Hyderabad: Bus corridors still on civic body's agenda

Hyderabad: Studies on the Bus Rapid Transit System are still going on, and officials are focusing on implementing new systems to increase the average traffic speed on the city roads. GHMC commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy said the BRTS would create an exclusive lane for RTC buses. That would free up the roads for general traffic.

“Five years back the civic body readied a blueprint and we are studying it as there have been many developments subsequently. The BRTS proposal is still alive and we will introduce it very soon on a few corridors,” he said. Dr Janardhan Reddy said the GHMC was studying on Personal Transportation System which would assist traffic and enforcement wing in increasing the average speed on city roads.
