Cabinet allows AP Discoms take loans
Vijayawada: Many ‘approvals’ have flowed from the recent Cabinet sessions. The Cabinet has allowed the AP Discoms to take a Rs 11,416.36 crore loan from various banks, at a low interest rate. It also approved the proposal by the government to stand as the Guarantor.
Similarly, the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the government to allow APSRTC to take a Rs 1,000 crore loan from Punjab National Bank.
The Cabinet has also approved the Integrated Innovation and Technology Policy 2017-2020.
The Cabinet has approved the proposal of providing basic infra facilities to 42 urban local bodies with financial assistance from Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
In fact, the government has identified 42 local urban bodies to develop with '4,188.71 crore on the lines of the AMRUT Scheme.
Similarly, the Cabinet has permitted the Tirupati Municipal Corporation to select the developer for the development of Tirupati Smart City under the Swiss Challenge mode.
The Cabinet has approved the land allotments for the developer to set up Municipal Solid Waste Management Projects in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakha, Krishna, Guntur, Nellore, Chittoor, Kadapa and Anantapur districts.
The Cabinet has approved the allotment of lands on lease basis up to 25 cents to the Regional and National Political Parties at constituency level.
The Cabinet has permitted APGENCO to set up a Hydel Power Project, as a part of constructing the Polavaram Multi Purpose Project. The APGENCO will set up the 12x18 MW hydel power project at Polavaram. Additionally, the Cabinet has given Post-Facto approval to Transco, APSPDCL to get loans from the World Bank.
