Hyderabad: Osmania Medical College of Hyderabad won the national finale of the intercollegiate Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz 2023, held at Zakir Hussain Delhi College earlier this week.
The winners, Sayed Mohammad Hashmi, Hussain Ahmed and Sayed Abdul Mannan, answered a wide array of questions on Nobel prizes and Sweden. The quiz was held in five cities across India — Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, and Bengaluru with the grand finale in New Delhi, over six teams were part of the national quiz round.
Sweden’s Ambassador to India Jan Thesleff handed over the prizes to the winners. The prize for National Quiz Champions is a weeklong trip to Sweden. The winners will get to visit the headquarters of some of the partnering companies, Swedish universities and the Nobel Museum.
Thesleff said that 2023 is a special year as it marks 75 years of Sweden-India diplomatic relations.
The quiz is open to all Indian students currently enrolled at a college/university in India. Students are required to form teams of three members, all from the same institution. The winning team from each city will qualify for the grand finale which will be held in New Delhi.
