Raids on illegal Bangladeshis to continue

The CCB had gathered inputs on a large number of Bangladeshis staying in East, Southeast and Northeast police divisions of the city.

Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) will continue the raid and search operations in the coming days to identify and arrest Bangladeshis staying illegally in the city.

Sources confirmed that the CCB is gathering information on the whereabouts of those staying without proper permits in the city. It is said that Bangladeshis, who are mostly labourers, have managed to obtain Aadhaar cards, voter identity and other government documents.

The CCB had gathered inputs on a large number of Bangladeshis staying in East, Southeast and Northeast police divisions of the city.

After they are identified and arrested, they will be deported to Bangladesh, a senior CCB officer said.

The CCB arrested the 60 illegal Bangladeshis at Marathahalli, Ramamurthynagar, K.R. Puram and other areas by luring them with government benefits. They will be deported soon, sources said
