South Central Railway staff seek regular pension plan
Hyderabad: The South Central Railway Employees Sangh on Wednesday wrote a letter to the railway minister seeking regular pension scheme for employees who were appointed after 2004.
General secretary of National Federation of Indian Rails (NFIR) and SCRES M. Raghavaiah said that while meeting railway minister Mr Piyush Goyal they requested him for an exemption of the national pension scheme to rail employees and to include them in regular pension scheme.
“Railway employees have been working in remote places foregoing basic necessities of life, similar to the defence forces. The staff ensure movements of trains are not affected under any circumstances and sometimes get killed on duty as confirmed by the High Level Safety Review Committee (HLSRC) headed by Shri Anil Kakodkar,” he said.
