Pay bills or will shut mess: University of Hyderabad

The pending mess bills have amounted to Rs 2.71 crore.

Hyderabad: The UoH administration warned students on Tuesday that the mess facilities will be shut down if hostel residents failed to pay their mess fee dues by November 4. The pending mess bills have amounted to Rs 2.71 crore. The administration also warned that the outstanding amount would increase by over Rs 35 lakh if the students failed to pay their dues in time.

The notice from the chief warden’s office said, “Students are reluctant to pay their mess dues since it is expected that it will be deducted from the fellowship amounts. However, students may please note that the monthly fellowships in many cases do not cover individual dues.” The notice said: “Students will understand that it is impossible to run a mess without students paying their mess dues that is beyond their fellowship.”
