Hyderabad: Getting a Congress ticket to contest is almost impossible for common leaders but top leaders are aspiring for two tickets in the forthcoming Assembly elections in the state. TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and his wife Padmavathi were legislators in the dissolved Assembly. The party will nominate them again in the coming elections. In Nalgonda district, apart from Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy, Congress leaders Komatireddy Venkata Reddy and his brother Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy are trying for the Nalgonda and Munugodu Assembly constituencies respectively. They also want the Nakrekal Assembly ticket for their nominee.
Another senior leader from the same district, Mr K. Jana Reddy, wants a ticket to contest and another for his son. Mr Jana Reddy wants to shift to Miryalaguda and make way for his son Raghuveer Reddy from his Nagarjunasagar Assembly constituency. Former minister Konda Surekha who recently rejoined the Congress wants two tickets. She wants to contest from Warangal East and wants her husband Konda Murali or her sister Konda Sushmitha to be fielded from the Parakala constituency.
Former minister D.K. Aruna will contest from Gadwal and she wants the Makthal seat for daughter Snigdha Reddy. Former minister M. Mukesh Goud will contest from Goshamahal and wants the Musheerabad Assembly constituency for his son Vikram Goud. While former PCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah has pitched for the Jangaon Assembly seat, he wants a nomination for daughter-in-law Vishali. Former minister J. Geetha Reddy, who has started campaigning from Zaheerabad constituency wants a ticket for her daughter Meghana.
Former MLA Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy also wants two tickets, one for himself and another for his wife. Former home minister Sabitha Indra Reddy will contest from Maheswaram and wants Rajendranagar for her son Karthik Reddy. Lastly former deputy chief minister D. Rajanarasimha will contest from Andole and wants Sangareddy for wife Padmini.
