JEE exams to go online on May 20
HYDERABAD: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)- Advanced has been scheduled for May 20, 2018, and will go completely online.

Over 18 marks were awarded as grace marks last year, whi-ch irked students and parents as it made a huge difference in the ranking system.
Mr Arvind Siva, a student, says, “Al-though it was decided to conduct the exam online earlier, coaching centres are yet to start practice tests in online mode which could affect our performance during the exam. We have to get used to the time needed and the model of question papers and other things.”
Mr Anand Raman, director of FIIT-JEE, Hyderabad, said, “We haven’t started conducting JEE advanced tests online as extensively as needed. It requires a lot of infrastructure as there are many students. We are trying to give slots to students for practice.”
Teachers at coaching institutes say that conducting the test online can reduce errors that cre-ep into question papers.
They say that the question paper will be the same for all students, however, the questions will be jumbled for each student. All details and announcements pertaining to the exam will be displayed on the official website launched by the joint admission board i.e. www.jeeadv.ac.in.
Around 2.2 lakh students appeared for the exam in 2017. The JEE-Advanced is considered as one of the most challenging examinations an-d is conducted for admission to IITs and NITs.
