Bengaluru: Four rowdies held while planning robbery

Accused belong to Ullal Kartik’s gang.

Bengaluru: In a swift move, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths arrested four members of the notorious rowdy sheeter Ullal Kartik's gang and foiled a robbery attempt on Saturday night.

Based on a tip off, the sleuths arrested Jagadeesh alias Ullal Jagga (30), a native of Ullal town, Satyaraj (23), Ravi Kiran (24) and Nikhil, a resident of Mallatahalli.

According to police, the armed gang was waiting for people to rob them of their money and valuables in Hanumakka and Hanumantappa Layout in Jnanabharathi police station limits at around 9.30 pm.

A CCB team rushed to the spot and managed to arrest all the four robbers. The police recovered machetes, chilli powder from the accused. During the interrogation police found that the gang had planned to rob people by throwing chilli powder at them and threatening with lethal weapons.

The police have found that Ullal Jagga was earlier involved in cases of assault and murder attempt, while Satyaraj is an accused in the murder of one Yogi and Ravi Kiran has cases of robbery registered against him.
