Akbaruddin Owaisi writes to Jagan Mohan Reddy over rioting cases

Owaisi said that members of both communities had entered into a settlement and there had been no incidents since then.

Vijayawada: Telangana state MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Sunday wrote to AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, asking him to withdraw cases on those accused of communal rioting during the Ganesha festival in 2011 in Adoni of Kurnool district.

He said that members of both communities had entered into a settlement and there had been no incidents since then. Despite this, Mr Owaisi said, people of both the communities were receiving summons as the cases were being prolonged. He said communal rowdy sheets were opened against them. Mr Owaisi said they hailed from poor families and were suffering hardships because of harassment.
