Railway men bring laurels to Chennai division
CHENNAI: Railway personnel Elumalai Karthik and M. Prakash from Chennai division brought laurels to the Chennai division after performing at Asian Body building Championship and Tamil Nadu State Para Badminton Championship 2017 .
E. Karthik, a 27-year-old railway official at Perambur carriage local railway station, stood fourth at the Asian Body building Championship 2017 held in Seoul recently. Hailing from Pulianthope, Karthik has won All India railway championship in body building for last three consecutive years and bbagged gold at Mr India championship in 2013.
“I have been into body building since 2010 and wanted to pursue my passion along with my job in Railways. Encouraging the sport at a higher level will motivate more youngsters in body building,” said Karthik.
Prakash, a physically challenged railway official of Madurai division overlooked all disabilities and won gold in singles and doubles category at TN State Para Badminton Championship 2017 organized by Tamil Nadu Badminton Association for disabled, at Madurai.
