Mangaluru boy escapes from clutches of Blue Whale challenge

Sources said that the parents took him for counselling and was weaned out of his addiction for the game.

Bengaluru: A highschool student, who had allegedly injured himself while playing the killer Blue Whale game, has been provided counselling and brought out of the clutches of the game.

Following the incident, the high school management has asked all parents to be alert and careful and ensure that their children do not fall prey to the game.

The boy’s father works abroad and he is staying with his mother in the city.

The parents have reportedly given him a smart phone.

Sources said that his school teachers noticed that the boy had become dull, and had not completed his homework and other school projects.

He was disinterested in his studies and seemed to be constantly worrying about something.

The teachers, who noticed his abnormal behaviour, alerted his parents and asked them to look into the reason behind his mood shift.

The family members spoke to the boy found that he was playing Blue Whale. He had already tried to hurt himself and had a small wound on his hand.

Sources said that the parents took him for counselling and was weaned out of his addiction for the game.

The boy is now normal, the sources said.

Considering the seriousness of the incident, the school sent out letters to all parents, asking them to be careful and to take precautions to prevent their children from falling prey to the game.
