Chennai: Online facility to download case docus launched
Chennai: City Police commissioner AK Viswanathan on Friday inaugurated the online facility wherein public can download case particulars or get ‘no trace certificate’ of their lost documents. The facility developed by the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) would be implemented at the earliest in the state, officials said.
SCRB has been working on the project for several months now wherein case particulars of all criminal, civil and road accident cases would be fed into a system and can be used by the public.
SCRB director, Seema Agarwal inaugurated the ‘lost document report’ facility during the event. Any individual can make use of this facility to download a non-traceable certificate by feeding in details of their missing original documents- passport, driving license, registration certificate and others.
“Further, road accident victims or witnesses can download all the documents submitted by the investigation officials paying Rs10 for each certified copy of the documents.” ADGP Seema Agarwal said.
Officials said that they are working on a system wherein witnesses included by police or the respondents in cases will receive an alert message on their phones from the concerned police jurisdiction.
Public can download all the documents submitted before the court in connection with their case. For downloading the details, one has to pay Rs 10 for each copy.
“Accident victims can use these documents with insurance companies seeking for claims.
Others who are not party to that case cannot access these details. There is a provision for the lawyers of the victims and respondents to download these documents,” said Seema Agarwal.
Police warned that strict action would be taken against those trying to cheat the facility. For further details, public shall visit the Tamil Nadu police website (http://eservices.tnpolice.gov.in).
