Hyderabad: Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya, the lone Telangana face in the Narendra Modi Cabinet tendered his resignation on Friday ahead of Sunday’s Cabinet reshuffle. Mr Dattatreya could be replaced by BJP general secretary Muralidhar Rao, who hails from Karimnagar. This is being viewed as part of the strategy to strengthen the party to take on the TRS in 2019. Mr Rao is likely to be nominated to the Rajya Sabha seat from Rajasthan that was vacated by Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu.
