Almatti reservoir gets good inflows
Hyderabad: The rains in the catchment areas of the Almatti reservoir have increased inflows by around 20,000 cusecs in the last 24 hours. The inflows into the Almatti reservoir reached 56,879 cusecs on Friday from 35,224 cusecs on Thursday.
The Karnataka government is releasing 34,773 cusecs to the Narayanpur reservoir. The present inflow into the Narayanpur reservoir is 36,513 cusecs and outflow 38,698 cusecs.
In Karnataka, Almatti and Narayanpur reservoirs are getting good inflows but Jurala, downstream in Telangana state is getting only 10,016 cusecs.
The storage capacity of Almatti reservoir is 122.83 tmc ft and present storage 105.21 tmc ft.
The Narayanpur has 18.55 tmc ft against its capacity of 33.13 tmc ft. Jurala can hold 9.66 tmc ft and storage is at 7.97 tmc ft.
The inflow into the Srisailam reservoir is 23,000 cusecs. The full reservoir level is 885 ft and the water level now is 789.7 ft.
Meanwhile, a Congress party delegation led by TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy met Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru on Friday and requested him to release 15 TMC water from the Narayanpur reservoir. Mr Reddy said the Karnataka CM agreed to release seven TMC water.
The Congress delegation comprised opposition leaders K. Jana Reddy (Assembly) and Shabbir Ali (Council), MLAs D.K. Aruna, G. Chinna Reddy, A. Sampath Kumar Vamshi Chand Reddy and TPCC vice-president Dr Mallu Ravi among others.
