Mysuru Ayush officer succumbs to COVID just two days after his retirement

Not only Mysuru city, even remotest parts of the district have been badly hit by the deadly COVID-19. More than 604 covid cases and 15 deaths are from seven taluks of Mysuru.

The death of a 53 year old doctor of jayapura community healty care centre of Mysuru taluk due to covid 19 on Saturday has created more anxiety among the rural folk. Meanwhile, a 60 year old Ayush officer has died due to covid 19 just two days after his retirement on Sunday. A resident of Udaygiri in Mysuru city, the officer served in Chamarajnagar district and he retired on 31 July and  has died due to covid on Sunday.  

 

As on Saturday, 14.32 per cent cases and 10.56 per cent deaths reported are from 7 taluks of Mysuru. Mysuru taluk has recorded 88 cases and two deaths, Nanjangud-175 cases and 4 deaths, TNarsipur-115 cases and 6 deaths, Hunsur- 81 cases and one death, HDKote-61 cases and two deaths, KRnagar 66 cases and two deaths, Periyapatna18 cases.

Mysuru district, which started recording more than 200 cases per day since 24 July, registered 365 cases on Saturday.

Mysuru district has the second highest number of deaths after Bengaluru and 4th highest number of cases after Bengaluru, Bellary and Kalburgi in Karnataka.
 
As of now, Mysuru has recorded 4582 cases, 151 deaths and 2840 cases are active.

 

However, the recovery rate in Mysuru has been 61 per cent. But death rate in Mysuru is 3.29 percent, which is more than state average of 1.86 percent.
