Hyderabad: 3 actors reply to cops on QNet
Hyderabad: Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor and Boman Irani who were served notices for the second time in the investigation into cases registered against QNet, on Thursday replied to the Cyberabad police regarding their role in promoting the schemes.
Pooja Hegde, Vivek Oberoi, and Jackie Shroff are said to have not responded even to the second notice.
The Economic Offences Wing of Cyberabad, which was established to probe the cases involving in MLM, job frauds and other financial fraud cases has registered around 30 cases and arrested 70 persons, and served notices to about 500 persons including actors, celebrities and cricketers. Some of them had responded to the notices which the police did not found satisfactory.
The notices were served for the second time to six actors who were asked to reply by August 1. Only three of them responded.
Responding to a query, the official said: “Notices will be served to the three actors for the third time, but we will ask them to make a personal visit to record their statement. If they do not respond, it would result in legal action against them.”
It may be recalled that a former techie, A. Aravind (31), hailing from Srikakulam district, who was associated with QNet since 2014, had ended his life by hanging in his room in Madhapur. The police found that he had incurred losses for the investments made in the QNet schemes. QNet has said that Aravind earned commissions on product sales since his joining.
