Chennai: Mansoor arrested over Remarks against PM, CM
Chennai: Actor Mansoor Ali Khan was detained by city police on Thursday morning, allegedly for his derogatory remarks against the PM and CM in a television show.
Based on a complaint filed by V.G.Narayanan of Hindu Makkal Munnani Katchi against actor and politician Mansoor Ali Khan, City Crime Branch police booked the latter under sections 153 (B) (a)(b) , 505(1)(b) and 505 (1) (c) of the Indian penal code.
The complainant said that Mansoor Ali Khan made a set of derogatory comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and TN Chief Minister Edapadi K. Palaniswami on a Tamil televison show. He added that the video went viral on social media. A year ago, Mansoor Ali Khan was detained by Salem police in Chennai, allegedly for his remarks against the proposed Chennai-Salem expressway. He was arrested in April 2018 when he tried to meet detained protesters at a wedding hall in Chennai. The protesters had been detained for staging a protest over the Cauvery water sharing dispute.
