Hyderabad High Court slams notification on Urdu

The counsel appearing for the Urdu Academy said that not following the roster system was a small mistake.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday pulled up the authorities of the Telangana Urdu Academy for justifying issuing the notification for recruitment of Urdu Officers without following the roster system stating that it was small mistake.

Justice P. Naveen Rao while dealing with two petitions questioning the notification said that without notifying the vacancies indicating roster wise reserved posts was not a small mistake, it was a blunder.

The judge reminded that as there was a prima facie in the case, the court directed the petitioners to implead the selected candidates as parties to the case.

The counsel appearing for the Urdu Academy said that not following the roster system was a small mistake. Mohd Muttabi Ali Khan moved the court seeking to declare the action of the secretary to Minority Welfare department of Telangana in not conducting the recruitment of Urdu Officers Grade I and Grade II through the notifications issued on March 28, 2018 in a fair and transparent manner as illegal.

Ms Valdimeer Khatoon, counsel for the petitioners told the court that the respondent authorities have made the recruitment contrary to the Rule 22 of the Service rules without implanting the roster system.
