Hyderabad: FIR issued on officials for dog killings

FIR has been issued based on the complaint filed by Voice of Hyde-rabad Animals Welfare Society for the alleged animal mass killings.

Hyderabad: Badrachalam police registered a case under Prevention of Cruelty Towards Animals Act against the executive officer Mr Srinivasa Rao and staff of Badrachalm gram panchayat for the alleged mass killing of 50 dogs.

FIR has been issued based on the complaint filed by Voice of Hyderabad Animals Welfare Society for the alleged animal mass killings.

It is punishable offence under Sections 428, 429, 201 of the IPC and Prevention of Cruelty Towards Animals Act. Cops who initially refused to book case had later registered an FIR.

According to VOHA, Bhadrachalam civic auth-ority killed around 50 stray dogs by giving poison injection, violating the act. The society has asked cops to investigate the case and arrest the accused.
