Waiting in the wings:BS Yeddyurappa back in the game again

He added that if the government collapsed, the BJP would not be responsible.

Bengaluru: When asked about the resignation of the two Congress MLAs, BJP State President B.S. Yeddyurappa told reporters in Bengaluru, "I don't know much about the resignations of Anand Singh and Ramesh Jarkiholi. But it shows there is large scale uneasiness within the Congress and against its leadership. The BJP is not bothered about the resignations. Our first concern is to alert the government to carry out drought relief work."

He added that if the government collapsed, the BJP would not be responsible.

Asked whether the BJP was ready to form the government or will it go for polls, he said, "Are we sanyasis? Once it falls, the BJP will explore the Constitutional provisions to form the new government. There is no question of going for mid- term polls. We have 105 MLAs and every right to stake a claim to form the government if the coalition government collapses", Yeddyurappa added.

Ruling out any attempts by the BJP to pull down the government or luring MLAs, the BJP state chief said, "let us see if legislators resign on their own."
