Adilabad: A video in which current Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, then the TRS party president, likened Koneru Konappa to the infamous wood smuggler Veerappan, has gone viral on social networking sites in the wake of the Sarasala incident.
Mr Rao made the comment during a party campaign before the 2009 elections in Kagaznagar constituency. It has assumed importance in the wake of Konappa's brother’s attack on forest staff at Kotha-Sarasala in Kagaznagar mandal in Kumarambheem Asifabad district on Sunday.
In his speech, Mr Rao had stated that Koneru Konappa smuggled teak wood to Vijayawada from Adilabad and amassed huge wealth.
Another video has surfaced in which Koneru Konappa is trying to assault Excise staff and is using filthy language. Some other videos of the MLA are also surfacing on social networking sites.
