Thiruvananthapuram: Special Investigation Team to trace German tourist

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Police will form a special investigation team to trace the missing German woman, Lisa Wayes, 31, and will issue a lookout notice on Tuesday. The police have examined the travel details of passengers from all airports in the country. It is believed that Lisa has not exited from any of the airports in the country.

Efforts were also being made to take the statements of Lisa's parents via video-conferencing. Her mother had lodged a complaint at the German consulate in New Delhi that her daughter had gone missing from Thiruvananthapuram. The complaint has been forwarded to DGP Loknath Behera. Shanghumugham Assistant Police Commissioner R. Illango is probing the case.

Unconfirmed reports said that Lisa had told her mother that she was keen on religious conversion and that she would visit Amrithananda Mayi Mutt at Vallikkavu in Kollam.

Illango has sought the help of German consulate to find its veracity. But the mutt authorities have said that no woman named Liza had come there.

The police has also intensified the search at prominent tourist destinations.Lisa had reached here on March 10 along with a British national who returned on March 15. Her visa expired on May 5.
