Hyderabad: Our safety is in interests of patients, say doctors
Hyderabad: Violence against doctors must stop and safety of medical personnel is in the interests of the patients, emphasised doctors on Doctors Day on Monday. The increasing incidents of violence against doctors in Indian cities are a major cause of concern.
Doctors acknowledge that they have to work hard and win the trust of patients and re-establish the doctor-patient relationship.
Director of health and medical education in TS Dr Ramesh Reddy said that the problem is at the student level “as those who are intelligent are not willing to join the profession. The manner in which hospitals and small clinics have been attacked has left an impression on young minds, and that is not good. This will be a challenge in the future. This trend is not good for the profession.”
Concern has raised from all corners about the safety of doctors. Lack of communication between doctor and patient is being seen as one of the major causes for disputes.
