Hyderabad: 8 Teachers, 2 vidya volunteers arrive late, suspended

Education department officials said that the same kind of punishment would be given to any teacher who turns up late to schools.

Hyderabad: Eight government teachers and two Vidya volunteers were suspended by the district collector of Mahbubnagar for arriving late to school on Saturday during an inspection.

Out of the 16 government teachers in the Girls’ Government School near Gandhi road in Mahbubnagar, only four were present for the assembly prayers as three were on leave and the others were late. Following the incident, collector D. Ronald Rose asked education officials to take strict action against them.

The latter suspended the teachers who were late.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Mahbubnagar district education officer Somi Reddy said, “Teachers who were late to school were given indefinite suspension orders. An inquiry has also been started on the same.”

Education department officials said that the same kind of punishment would be given to any teacher who turns up late to schools.
