For tribals, Gaddar shares dais with Congress, Left Tammineni: N Uttam Kumar Reddy

Mr Reddy said that the government was empowered to increase the reservation percentage of STs by just issuing a GO.

Hyderabad: TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday accused Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of doing injustice to tribals by depriving them of their rightful share in power, resources and opportunities in the state.

Addressing a public meeting organised by Lambada Hakkula Porata Sangam in Khammam on Saturday, Mr Reddy said that the tribals played a major role in the formation of Telangana, expecting a better future in the new state.

However, the CM did not fulfil a single major promise made to STs, both during the statehood movement and in the TRS manifesto for the 2014 elections, Mr Reddy said.

He said that Mr Rao did not increase the reservation percentage of STs in proportion to their population after the formation of Telangana, though he had promised 12 per cent quota in jobs and education in the election manifesto.

Mr Reddy said that the government was empowered to increase the reservation percentage of STs by just issuing a GO.

For the first time after formation of Telangana state, balladeer Gaddar shared the dais with Congress and Left leaders.

He enthralled the audience with a scintillating performance of his songs on Telangana.

Addressing the gathering, Gaddar said that there was no social justice in Telangana. “A person (KCR) belonging to a community which constitute only 0.05 per cent of the total population is ruling over 99.5 per cent people in Telangana,” he said, to loud cheers.

CPM state secretary T. Veerabhadram said that the Communist parties would fight for social justice in TS.
