6 doctors barred from practice for six months by Andhra Pradesh Medical Council

The council, in its meeting, found that they had submitted fake faculty declaration forms for the year 2015-16.

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Medical Council has taken disciplinary action against six doctors over their unethical conduct and removed their names from the registrar for six months.

Dr A. Suryananarayan Rao’s name has been removed as he altered the records and operated on patient M. Srinivas Rao, due to which he suffered from severe complications.

The patient was being treated under Aarogyasri for a neurological problem and another Dr Ravikanth Vuppu was to operate on the patient, but Dr. Rao did so, leading to complications.

The other five doctors are Dr. Muddu Surendra Nehru, Padamraonagar Secunderabad; Dr Narendraullu Surendra, Gaddiannaram, Hyderabad; Dr. B. Venugopal Rao, Ibrahimpatnam, Krishna District; Dr Sagar Sunka Mehdipatnam in Hyderabad and Dr S. Swarup Rani from Guntur.

The council, in its meeting, found that they had submitted fake faculty declaration forms for the year 2015-16.

During the said academic year, all these six doctors were found to work in more than one medical college and were apprehended by the Medical Council of India in two different colleges on two days.

The council received complaint from the MCI and investigations were carried out, which led to removal of their names from the registrar.
