AP native staff arbitrarily allotted to Telangana, panel told

The officials promised to look into these complaints and come out with a report by July 8, when the next meeting will be held.

Hyderabad: TS employees have lodged complaints with the Kamalnathan Committee and DoPT officials over allotment of AP-native staff to Telangana.

The joint meeting of Kamalnathan committee, DoPT officials and top officials of TS and AP governments on bifurcation of staff was held at Secretariat on Friday.

The officials promised to look into these complaints and come out with a report by July 8, when the next meeting will be held.

While the committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of bifurcating nearly 59,000 staff between TS and AP, it could bifurcate nearly 45,000 employees so far.

The major complaint of TS staff was regarding the committee allotting section officers and assistant section officers belonging to AP to TS even after some AP employees gave the option to work for AP.

“We brought to the notice of the committee that we have no objection if AP staff was allotted to TS as per their choice. But our objection is that though 24 SOs and ASOs belonging to AP chose AP, they were allotted to TS. We lodged our objection on this and the committee has decided to inquire into this issue and come out with a solution by July 8, when the next meeting will be held,” said A. Padma Chary, president, Telangana Udyogula Sangham.

However, the committee achieved a major breakthrough by making tentative allocations in police department, which has been pending for long due to various reasons.

The committee has set itself a target to complete the entire bifurcation process by July-end. The panel’s tenure will expire by August-end.
