Political meetings a nuisance: Osmania University student

Frequent political meets in the campus are leaving students divided into groups and also causing hardships to them, Rahul said.

Hyderabad: A student of the Osmania Law College of the city has moved the Hyderabad High Court, challenging the inaction of the Osmania University authorities in stopping political meetings in varsity campus.

Osa Rahul moved the petition, stating that the frequent political meetings were disturbing the students and also the academic atmosphere on the campus. Frequent political meets in the campus are leaving students divided into groups and also causing hardships to them, Rahul said.

He submitted that recently a political party announced that a massive public meeting will be organised on the eve of Telangana Formation Day and they represented the matter on April 25 to the varsity authorities but till date, there was no action. Rahul urged the court to declare the inaction of the authorities as illegal and direct the authorities not to allow political parties to hold meetings on the campus.
